Description:
The Annual Athletic meet for the senior school at St. Columba’s was organised on 29th November 2022. The meet commenced by seeking God’s blessings followed by a song presented by the school band. Post this, the day witnessed several athletic competitions including the races for 80m, 200m, 400 m and relay races. The medals were also given for the events like Shot put, long jump, triple jump, 800m, 1500m and 3000m races. Also, after the qualifying rounds of the tug of war, the final battle took place on the D-day. Competitions for the strongest man and the fastest runner of the school also gathered much cheer from the audience. The enthusiasm of the boys could be seen on the field as they won medals and certificates in different track and field events. After all the events, 11F and 12A were declared the best teams for classes 11 and 12, respectively. Sylvester Massey (11F) was adjudged the Best Athlete of class 11 whereas Danial Jose (12C) and Ayush Kumar (12A) shared the title of the Best Athlete for class 12. The event concluded with Mr. Chopra, the senior school administrator, proposing the vote of thanks. Overall, it was a successful event which culminated with a light refreshment for everyone present.
