St. Columba’s School has been my home for the past 11 years and as I sit to write about these years that
have shaped me and got me to where I am today, I am filled with an overwhelming surge of euphoria, thinking
about my firsts. My first time being a class monitor in the junior school, being a prefect, getting a
scolding and that feeling when I won my first competition. All these experiences have brought me to this
moment, and have made me capable to be the Head Boy of a place so close to my heart.
A leader is said to be one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way, someone who inspires and sets
up a trail for others to follow. As the head boy, it is my duty to embody these qualities, and exemplify
them.
I endeavour to lead with hard work, humility and to be a model of rectitude for my fellow students.
Leadership is the capacity to turn vision into reality. I intend to do the same. Leading a team requires
collaboration, consistency and discipline, my motto to bring these qualities together to turn our vision
into a concrete reality.
The theme for this school year is "service, commitment, and solidarity". A theme which perfectly encapsulates
what it means to be a leader and a Columban. Our founder Blessed Edmund Rice embodied these virtues in order
to create for us an ethos of,
Solidarity - where we all stand united as one community.
Commitment- to our goals, no matter of any hardship.
And service- to our fellow classmates and those in need.
I urge my fellow Columbans, to be agents of transformation not just in our thoughts but as well as
our deeds, with our actions let us uphold the school motto - “Sapere Aude, Sincere et Constanter” Dare
to know, Sincerely and Constantly.
Together, let us create an environment of academic excellence, social justice and develop a robust school
community that St. Columba’s is renowned for.
