On 24 July 2026, students of St. Columba's School, representing the *Environment Awareness and Disaster Management Society*, participated in a plantation drive at *President's Estate under the Government of NCT of Delhi's Mission* 70 Lakh Plantation Campaign, as part of the *"Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam"* initiative.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to contribute meaningfully towards environmental conservation while understanding the significance of afforestation in addressing contemporary ecological challenges. Under the guidance of environmental experts and officials present at the site, students not only planted saplings but also gained valuable insights into the importance of native species, sustainable plantation practices, biodiversity, and the long-term care required to ensure that every tree thrives.

Beyond the act of planting, the experience fostered a deeper appreciation of the shared responsibility each individual holds towards protecting the environment. It reinforced the idea that meaningful environmental change is achieved through consistent action, awareness, and community participation.

The plantation drive was both enriching and inspiring, leaving participants with practical knowledge as well as a broader understanding of ecological sustainability. It also marked the first official activity of the newly elected office bearers of the Environment Awareness and Disaster Management Society, under the guidance of Teacher-in-Charge Mr. Ramakant, with Hariaksh Maggo (President), Adeesh Sharma (Mentor) & Siddhansh Govind (Vice President) representing the society throughout the initiative.

The visit reflected St. Columba's School's continued commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens and served as a reminder that every sapling planted today is an investment in a greener, healthier tomorrow.
