Description: On the 23rd of August, the school hosted the much-anticipated "Tunes and Tales" musical for Grades VI and VII, an event that exemplified creativity and educational depth. The vision for this event was inspired by Bloom’s Taxonomy, incorporating various levels of cognitive learning, from remembering and understanding to creating. Additionally, the program was designed to address multiple intelligences, encouraging students to explore different learning modalities such as musical, linguistic, interpersonal, and kinesthetic intelligences. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Br William from the management, our Principal Br Robert, and Headmistress Mrs. Pal. A student eloquently spoke about how this musical was not merely a show, but a profound expression of emotions, symbolizing the power of melody in uniting the school community. The morning began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a solemn prayer in remembrance of Blessed Edmund Rice, our founder, setting a reverent tone for the program. The anticipation built as a brief introduction to two iconic musicals, The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins, was presented, preparing the audience for a captivating performance. The show officially took off with Grade VI’s delightful presentation of The Sound of Music. The audience was transported into the charming world of characters such as Maria, Captain Von Trapp, and the von Trapp children. The scenes were not only brought to life through excellent acting and singing but also enriched by colorful and engaging dances, which added vibrancy and energy to each moment on stage. The memorable performances left everyone reminiscing about the timeless story and its heartwarming characters. Following this enchanting display, Grade VII took to the stage with their superb performance based on the movie Mary Poppins. This adaptation swept the audience into a world of fantasy and hope, much like the original film. The students brought the whimsical and magical nature of Mary Poppins to life, offering a beautiful reminder of the power of imagination and optimism. Their portrayal of the beloved characters and the stunning set design captivated the audience, making this segment of the evening equally mesmerizing. The success of the show was evident in the applause that filled the auditorium, as the performances conveyed both the technical aspects of musical production and the emotional depth of the narratives. After the show, Principal Br Robert took the stage to address the gathering. His words of encouragement and praise for the students highlighted the educational significance of the event, reminding everyone that it was not just about entertainment, but also about personal growth, teamwork, and the joy of learning through the arts. The event concluded with the Coordinator delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing deep appreciation for the efforts of the students, teachers, and staff, as well as gratitude to the honored guests for their presence and support. The event marked the culmination of weeks of hard work, and the sense of accomplishment was palpable as the show drew to a close. To sum up, "Tunes and Tales" was not only a demonstration of artistic talent but also an embodiment of the educational values the school cherishes, fostering a deeper understanding of learning through music, performance, and collaborative effort. It was an unforgettable morning, filled with joy, inspiration, and a celebration of the students' multifaceted abilities.
