Description: ‘Teachers play an important role in moulding a child’s future. A relationship between a teacher and a student is said to be the most precious one in the world as they guide their students to become better human beings, responsible members of the society and ideal citizens of the nation.’ Teacher’s Day is a special day which is celebrated every year on September 5th to mark the birthday of the country’s former President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a great scholar, philosopher and educationist at heart. It is also a day to honour teachers for their significant contributions in shaping the life of students. On 5th of September 2023, St Columba's School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great excitement and exuberance. Children shared the essence of the occasion through their beautiful live performances. The students of the junior, middle and senior school presented a fun- filled programme with songs, dances, skits and poem recitation. The educators walked down the memory lane through photographs of memories of the past years through a presentation. The programme was followed by the felicitation of Mrs. D. Kumar and Mrs. Renu Rana who completed 25 years of service in school. The occasion was graced by the educators who had retired in the previous academic session. Mrs. Brahma, Mrs. Khan, Mrs Kandhari, Mrs. Pal along with Mohanji and Badruddin ji were felicitated during the Namaste programme for their dedicated service. The program ended with lunch for the teachers. We thank Brother Robert for his valuable support and generosity. Respected Principal Brother Robert, lauded the praiseworthy efforts of the students.
