A series of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) sessions were held for Junior School teachers on the 13th, 14th, and 20th of September 2023. The primary goal of these sessions was to empower educators with the knowledge and resources necessary for educating young children about self-protection and the recognition of potential risks.
The sessions commenced with opening remarks from Mrs. Guglani, emphasizing the pivotal role of educators in CSE. Participating teachers actively engaged in discussions to gain a deeper understanding of child protection issues, encompassing both physical safety and emotional well-being. Later on, Ms. Aastha Yadav highlighted the importance of a comprehensive planner for facilitators, while also addressing the need for age-appropriate teaching materials and effective instructional strategies. Mrs. Guglani shared various resources, including books and videos tailored for primary school students. The sessions thoughtfully addressed common concerns voiced by educators regarding sexuality education, encompassing topics such as handling issues like body safety, bullying and guiding the expression of emotions.
These sessions proved to be invaluable and enriching resources for educators.
