Description:
The KG Carnival at St. Columba’s Junior School, held on January 30, 2025, was a magical and immersive experience filled with joy, creativity, and adventure. Themed “Whimsical Wonderland,” the event transformed the school into a vibrant playground of imagination and exploration. The day began with a lively joker dance, setting the perfect tone for fun and laughter.
From dressing up as their favourite characters to participating in interactive games, the young boys engaged in a variety of stimulating activities designed to enhance their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. The carnival provided an exciting “Bagless Day” experience, allowing the children to learn through play, storytelling, and hands-on activities in an environment free from routine classroom structure.
One of the most thrilling attractions was the Spooky House Maze, where the boys navigated a darkened labyrinth adorned with friendly “spooky” decorations. Their giggles and excited shrieks echoed through the twists and turns as they developed spatial awareness and problem-solving skills in a playful setting.
The Story Theatre was another hub of excitement, featuring engaging storytelling sessions and dramatic performances. The boys brought the beloved tale of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” to life through interactive storytelling and acting. Additionally, they captivated the audience with a delightful dance performance of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” showcasing their rhythmic coordination and stage presence.
The Crafty Corner was abuzz with artistic energy, where the boys explored two unique art forms: Block Printing and Mandala Art. Block Printing allowed them to experiment with carved wooden blocks and colorful paints, while Mandala Art introduced them to intricate geometric designs, fostering concentration and artistic expression.
Adding a flavourful twist to the carnival, the “Flavour Fiesta” combined public speaking with a tasty reward. The boys were given topics to prepare and present, helping them build confidence and overcome stage fright. As an incentive, they were rewarded with a snack of their choice, making the activity both engaging and rewarding.
A special highlight of the carnival was the “Enchanted Candy Cottage,” where the children worked together to complete puzzles and play memory games, encouraging teamwork and cognitive development.
The KG Carnival was a day of laughter, learning, and lasting memories. Every activity was thoughtfully designed to ignite imagination, nurture creativity, and enhance communication skills in a fun-filled environment. The event was a delightful break from a traditional classroom setting, leaving the boys with cherished experiences and a newfound love for interactive learning.
