Description: The morning of 22nd August was a symphony of stories and songs as the Middle School hosted its much-awaited Tunes and Tales event. The program began at 9:00 am, drawing to a close by 12:30 pm, and was filled with the captivating blend of storytelling and music that left the audience spellbound. The event commenced with the welcoming of our esteemed guests— the Principal, Brother Robert; Headmistress, Mrs. Aparajita Sharma Pal; section Heads, Mr. Naresh Chopra and Mrs. Ritu Kaushal; coordinator, Mrs. Hima Simon; English teachers, parents, and the eager students of classes 4 and 5. Adding grace to the occasion was our chief guest, Brother William, who was greeted warmly by all present. The proceedings began with a heartfelt welcome address, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp to seek divine blessings. This ceremonial moment was beautifully complemented by a soulful choir performance, setting the tone for a magical morning ahead. The vision behind Tunes and Tales was to cater to the diverse intelligences of students, fostering a holistic learning experience. By integrating music, storytelling, and performance, the event provided a platform for students to express themselves creatively, engage with language arts, and develop their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. It was a celebration of multiple intelligences—verbal-linguistic, musical, visual-spatial, and bodily-kinesthetic—allowing each student to shine in their unique way. The musical showcase began with the students of Class 4, who brought the vibrant world of Coco to life. Through colorful costumes and lively performances, they explored themes of family, tradition, and the power of music. The set design, inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, was vibrant and visually appealing. Their performances were a visual treat, filled with emotion and a deep connection to the story. The second half of the show featured Class 5 students in their rendition of Annie. They delivered heartwarming performances of classic songs such as "Tomorrow" and "It’s a Hard Knock Life," bringing the hopeful and resilient spirit of Annie to the stage. The simplicity of the set design allowed the students' talents to shine through, while the carefully chosen costumes added an authentic touch to the show. The audience was moved by the sincerity and enthusiasm displayed by these young stars. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the coordinator, who praised the dedication of the teachers and the students' exceptional performances. She also expressed gratitude for the support of the parents and the entire school community, whose efforts made Tunes and Tales a resounding success. As the audience departed from the auditorium, they carried with them the echoes of the stories told and the melodies sung, a lasting reminder of the power of words and music to touch hearts and inspire minds. -Tunes and Tales Team
