On
3rd October 2025 the EA & DM Society of St. Columba’s School in
collaboration with Green Pencil Foundation NGO organised a cleanliness drive at
Kalindi Kunj Ghat. A group of enthusiastic students. visited the Yamuna banks
with the aim of contributing to the restoration of this vital river.
The
team worked together to collect garbage and segregate waste. By the end of the
drive, we had gathered nearly five full bags of plastic, wrappers and other
discarded material. While the task was physically demanding it gave us a real
sense of responsibility and teamwork.
This
experience taught us more than any classroom lesson could. We realised how
serious the problem of pollution is and how much of it is caused by careless
human behaviour. At the same time, we learnt that even small efforts can make a
visible difference when done with dedication.
The
clean-up drive left us with a deeper respect for the environment and a stronger
resolve to continue working towards a cleaner and greener India.
