The
Junior School Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vibrant
participation on 6th February 2026. The programme commenced with a warm welcome
to the Chief Guest, Br. Joaquim Johnson, along with our respected Principal, Br.
Robert Fernandes, Br. Agnelo Benjamin, Br. Cedric Andrade, Mr. Naresh Chopra, and Mrs.
Ritu Kaushal.
The
inaugural ceremony featured an impressive band performance by the Air Force
Band, followed by a disciplined march past by students of Classes 1, 2, and 3.
The torch relay and oath ceremony highlighted the values of sportsmanship,
discipline, and fair play. The celebratory atmosphere was further enhanced by a
melodious welcome song and a graceful inaugural dance. The enthusiastic
presence of parents added to the grandeur of the occasion as they warmly
encouraged and appreciated the young participants.
The
sporting events began with the KG drill, setting an energetic tone for the day,
followed by 50-metre and 75-metre flat races across various classes. The drill
performances were exceptionally well-coordinated and received wide appreciation
from the audience. Class 3C presented an impressive Wand Drill, while Class 3A
showcased an energetic Bottle Drill. Class 1 students performed a Yoga Drill
and Freestyle Dance Drill, displaying flexibility and creativity. Class 2
students demonstrated discipline and teamwork through a synchronized PT Drill.
Prize distribution was held after each set of events.
A
variety of fun skill races ensured active participation and enjoyment for all.
KG students delighted the audience with the Leap and Loop Race and Bunny &
Carrot Race. Class 1 students enthusiastically participated in the Beads Sprint
Race and Zigzag Ring Run, displaying agility and coordination. Class 2 students
impressed with the Frog Relay and Hoppy Bucket Race, highlighting teamwork and
balance, while Class 3 students showcased remarkable energy and agility in the
Zigzag Express and Shooting Star Race.
The
Hurdle Race witnessed enthusiastic participation, and medals were awarded for
the 100-metre race, 200-metre race, and Ball Throw competition. The programme
gained further momentum with energetic Zumba performances by students of
Classes 3E, 3B, and 3D. Special attractions such as the Helpers’ 75-Metre Race,
Teachers’ Bean Bag Race, Tug of War events between KG mothers and Class 1
mothers and Class 2 fathers and Class 3 fathers, and a lively Zumba performance
by students’ mothers added warmth and excitement, making the celebration truly
memorable.
The
event concluded with the final prize distribution, followed by an inspiring
address by Br. Robert, who appreciated the students’ dedication and encouraged
them to continue striving for excellence in both sports and life. Mrs. Ritu
Kaushal then presented the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts
of students, teachers, parents, and staff in making the event a remarkable
success.
The
Junior School Sports Day was a grand success, leaving behind cherished memories
and reinforcing the values of unity, discipline, perseverance, and sporting
excellence among students, parents, and staff.
