Description: Perseverance is the spirit of persisting and not giving up on our efforts. It is a crucial quality that helps students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals through continuous effort and determination. On the morning of 3rd August 2024, the students of Class 2D of St. Columba's Junior School presented an inspiring assembly on the theme of perseverance. The assembly commenced with a Bible reading, creating a reflective atmosphere, followed by a lively singing of the hymn "Our Lord Father." The boys eloquently discussed the significance of perseverance, noting that while many of us work hard to achieve our goals, only a few remain focused and committed until the task is completed. They explained that perseverance involves striving despite facing difficulties, barriers, obstacles, or delays. Drawing inspiration from our founder, Blessed Edmund Rice, the boys highlighted his exemplary perseverance, emphasizing how he never gave up despite numerous challenges. They also shared the story of Thomas Edison, who famously failed thousands of times before successfully inventing the light bulb, demonstrating the power of persistence. The assembly concluded with a motivational address by our respected Principal, Brother Robert, who encouraged the boys to never give up on their goals. This was followed by an encouraging speech from Mrs. Kaushal, the Headmistress of the Junior School, who applauded the boys for their efforts and underscored the importance of staying committed despite obstacles. Class 2D's assembly served as a powerful reminder of the value of perseverance, and through this, the students not only learned a new word but also the value attached to it.
