Description:

“Underwater life is a gift—don’t let it drift away!”

Class 2B presented a deeply evocative and thought-provoking assembly on 8th August 2025 on the theme “Life Below Water,” highlighting the urgent call to action inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14—to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources.

The morning assembly began with an enthusiastic student leading the Junior School students in uplifting affirmations, spreading the message of positivity and self-belief. This was followed by reverent prayers seeking divine blessings for the preservation of our planet’s aquatic life. A creative skit depicted the harmful effects of plastic pollution, oil spills, and marine litter, with personified sea creatures sharing their suffering caused by human neglect.

Powerful placards carried messages for crucial actions such as “Say No to Plastic” and “Keep Our Oceans Clean,” while a verse from Isaiah 43:2—“When you go through deep water, I will be with you”—anchored the message of hope. The entire class performed a graceful prayer dance, adding flair and devotion to the occasion.

Inspired by Edmund Rice’s values of justice and compassion, the assembly urged everyone to protect marine life. Just as he stood with the vulnerable, we are called to care for life below water, safeguarding it for future generations.

As part of a creative sustainability initiative, Class 2B transformed old newspapers and waste paper into beautifully handcrafted sheets. Each recycled sheet featured a thoughtful message on peace, blending environmental consciousness with the value of harmony. These meaningful creations were presented to our respected Principal, Br. Robert, and Junior Wing Headmistress, Mrs. Kaushal, as heartfelt tokens of gratitude and respect.

Br. Robert and Mrs. Kaushal commended the students for their efforts. The assembly concluded with a shared reminder that protecting life below water is both an environmental necessity and an act of love for God’s magnificent creation.
