EARLY IDENTIFICATION, STRONGER FOUNDATION

On 24th April 2026, St. Columba's Junior School organised a session conducted by the Special Educators from the Learning Centre, in collaboration with the teachers, to review the PRASHAST checklist, aiming to strengthen the early identification of Children with Special Needs (CWSN).
The session focused on understanding the range of challenges children may experience, recognising their needs within the classroom environment, and exploring appropriate support strategies. Case-based discussions were conducted to enhance awareness of different disabilities and to build a deeper understanding among teachers. Emphasis was also placed on refining classroom practices and approaches to effectively support CWSN.
The educators revisited the procedures involved in implementing the PRASHAST checklist, highlighting the importance of timely completion to ensure early intervention.
The session concluded with a strong emphasis on collaborative efforts, encouraging all staff members to work together as a unified team to support and nurture every child.
