The 5th of May, saw the
Middle School proudly celebrating Edmund Rice Day with great enthusiasm and a
spirit of reverence for our founder, Blessed Edmund Rice. The celebrations
moved beyond grandeur and instead focused on the theme “Anchored in Faith, Steady in Hope." The occasion yet
again highlighted the values and vision of Edmund - that of Empathy, Compassion
and Resilience and strived to inspire students to reflect on this ethos.
Students of Classes 4 to 10 actively participated in a variety of age
appropriate and meaningful activities.
Classes 4-8, gave expression to their thoughts
through a poster-making competition
and created vibrant artwork and thoughtful messages. The displays reflected
their understanding of faith as a guiding force and hope as a source of
strength in challenging times.
Classes 9 and 10, saw a PPT encapsulating the milestones of Blessed Edmund Rice 's life and
successfully completed a related Crossword thereafter.
To make the celebration more meaningful, a ration collection drive was conducted, encouraging students to
contribute essential food items for those in need. The initiative fostered
empathy and social responsibility, reinforcing the importance of giving back to
the community. The generous contributions were proof of the spirit of Edmund in
each Columban!
Giving context to the entire celebration, was a special assembly conducted over the mic, where students shared
thoughts and reflections on the significance of the Day.
Overall, the celebration was a
meaningful and enriching experience, leaving students inspired to uphold
Blessed Edmund Rice 's values in their daily lives.
