Description:
Assembly: 9B
Date: 16th December 2024
‘Literature is where we explore the highest and lowest places of human society, as well as the depths of the human spirit.’
The assembly focused on the role of art, especially literature in life. Literature doesn’t always promise absolute truth, but it reveals the truth of a story, the truths born of imagination and heart. The students delved into this idea through a role-play that highlighted the crucial moment in a person’s life when he had to make a daunting decision about his stream. The protagonist chose Art as it was his passion, and he didn’t succumb to popular notions or conventions about stream selections.
The role play was followed by a melodious rhapsody borrowed from Tagore’s Gutabitan ‘Ekla Chalo Re’. The Headmistress, Mrs. Pal also encouraged the audience to follow their passion and intuition rather than following the crowd.
The assembly culminated with the school anthem sung by the class choir. The students who proactively participated in the assembly were: Mohd Arhaan, Arko Ghosh, Daksh Sharma, Daksh Mehra, Darshwardhan Jha, Ishaan Kumar, Kavish Jain, Shourya Patil, Yushan Bansal, Vangao Joel, Sarthak Singhal, Soham Nath, Naman Meena, Rudra Rao, Shaun Daniel and Utkarsh Marchino.
