Let's Talk Money!!!
On Wednesday, 10th April 2024, students of class 10, attended a session on Financial Literacy, conducted by Ms. Anvesha and Ms. Veronica Lewis.
Ms. Anvesha, leads the Design, Impact and Effectiveness team at Good Return, an Australia based International NGO. She has been working on developmental issues like health, education and microfinance to name some and has worked with organizations like the World Bank, Clinton Foundation, British Council and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Ms. Veronica Lewis, is a development practitioner working in emerging economies in the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia. Her focus is primarily in the design and implementation of women's education and empowerment projects, ranging from financial literacy to mental health and social inclusion.
By reflecting and responding to leading questions asked by the resource persons, the students were steered towards the key concepts of Financial Planning - an essential life skill in today's times. Students were able to distinguish between needs and wants and also reflect on the importance of planning for unexpected expenditures.
