“The
more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the
more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss
On
the pleasant morning of 8th October 2026, students from different sections of
Class 3 took to the assembly stage to share an important message with their
peers on the magic of books and the importance of reading.
The
assembly commenced with an energetic action song, “This is the Day”, followed
by a captivating skit about the impact of reading. A creative feature of the
morning was the ‘Book Fashion Show’, in which students confidently walked the
runway to bring different literary genres to life, including the Dictionary,
Encyclopaedia, Atlas, Comic Book, and Biography, showcasing the diverse
treasures waiting to be discovered in the school library.
Following
this, a lively dance performance conveyed the importance of reading with
expression rather than mechanically. The students also drew a meaningful
connection to our school’s legacy, highlighting how Blessed Edmund Rice’s deep
commitment to education continues to shape the school’s core values.
The
assembly concluded with our respected Principal, Br. Robert, and Junior School
Headmistress, Mrs. Ritu Kaushal, appreciating the students for their
performance. They reinforced the central message of the assembly, encouraging
the young audience to look beyond their digital screens and discover the
fascinating worlds hidden within books.
