Description:
An Educational Trip was organised by the Middle Section on Thursday, 13th December 2024 for classes 4 to 9 and for class 10 on 18th December 2024. The venues were chosen according to the age and grade level of the students so that they gain from the educational trip.
- Learning Objectives: To provide students with an opportunity to:
• be a responsible citizen towards preserving natural and cultural heritage.
• understand ecological systems, conservation, efforts, and sustainable practices.
• improve social skills through teamwork and collaboration with peers.
• develop various life-skills, such as following norms of a group, time management etc.
• deepen cultural and historical knowledge of our rich heritage.
||Learning Outcomes:
- Class 4: Railway Museum and Nehru Park - The museum's vast collection of railway artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia offered a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of India's rail network to the students. The museum's interactive displays, joy ride, and immersive experiences made the educational trip engaging and entertaining.||
- Class 5: Gandhi Smriti and India Gate - The primary purpose of the trip was to provide students with practical knowledge and firsthand experience in sync with their curriculum. The excursion to the museum was quite an enriching experience for the students. They witnessed Gandhiji’s room where he spent his time, the prayer ground where mass congregations were held and also saw the place where Gandhiji was assassinated. Photographs, sculptures, paintings, frescos and the inscriptions on rocks and relics pertaining to the years that Gandhiji spent there gave them a firsthand experience of Gandhiji’s life.||
- Class 6: Air Force Museum and Nehru Park - Students were exposed to the history of the Indian Air Force. They saw exhibits of small and large Aircrafts, War Trophies, Radar equipment and captured enemy vehicles. Students displayed a lot of interest and maintained discipline throughout the trip. At Nehru Park, they had fun and enjoyed the sumptuous meal with their peers.||
- Class 7: Humayun Tomb, Museum and Sunder Nursery - It was an enriching experience for children as it allowed them to immerse themselves in the beautiful heritage and discover the lesser-known facts of the Mughal Era. They were fascinated by the various artifacts and could relate to the information that was shared in their curriculum. They witnessed different varieties of plants including medicinal plants closely at Sunder Nursery. The enriching experience motivated them to be more respectful and empathetic towards the green surroundings. They were also able to realise the importance of human actions to protect the environment. ||
- Class 8: National Science Centre - Students were exposed to the world of science and how it evolved. The students were able to enjoy the immersive experience of evolution of history, science and technology. The model of Indus Valley civilisation, the dinosaur island, the mirror maze and many activities which the students could engage in were a hit amongst them. It was a treasure trove of knowledge. ||
- Class 9 and 10: Rashtrapati Bhawan and India Gate/Nehru Park - It was a great learning for the students. It combined knowledge and enriching experience to witness the places of Architectural Grandeur. The museum offered students a complete package of art, culture, environment and heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan. It also made them experience the grand life that the political leaders are able to enjoy.
All groups had a safe and enjoyable trip. They added to their knowledge and enjoyed the company of their peers and educators. -
