GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR THE CLASS OF 2025-26:
Celebrating
a Journey of Transformation
On
January 17th, 2026, the hallowed halls of St. Columba’s resonated with
pride and nostalgia as we celebrated the Graduation Ceremony for the Class
of 2026. Accompanied by their families, the graduating batch gathered to
mark the culmination of a thirteen-year journey—a transition from wide-eyed
toddlers to "men of substance."
A
Solemn Commencement
The
ceremony began with a stately Academic Procession led by Principal Rev. Br.
Robert, Br. Agnelo, Mr. Chopra, Mrs. Kaushal, and Mrs. Garg. This was
followed by a moving prayer service conducted by Ms. Grace David, setting a
reflective and grateful tone for the morning.
Wisdom
for the Journey: The Principal’s Address
Adding
to the gravity of the occasion, Rev. Br. Robert delivered a powerful
message to the graduates. He shared his profound wisdom and blessings, urging
the young men to carry the values of the school into the world. His words
served as both a compass and a benediction, reminding the boys and their
parents that while they are leaving the gates of the school, the spirit of a
Columban remains a lifelong calling.
The Headmaster (XI-XII), Mr. Chopra, addressed the gathering,
emphasizing the school’s pivotal role in nurturing and transforming the boys
into mature young men. He reminded the graduates that they are now ready to
"rise and shine" as they step into the world beyond our gates.
Honouring
the Graduates
The
heart of the ceremony was the presentation of mementos. Each student received a
citation folder alongside a school tie and pocket square. These
citations, painstakingly crafted by class teachers, were displayed on-screen as
each boy walked across the stage, offering a personal tribute to their unique
journey at St. Columba’s.
Tribute
and Reflection
The
event was punctuated by heartfelt performances and reflections:
- A
Musical Farewell:
The Class XI choir, under the guidance of Mr. Mark Aimond, performed a
stirring medley of songs dedicated to their seniors.
- Voices
of the Class:
Valedictorians Saheb Kohli and Vedansh Chhikara spoke with
eloquence, crediting their alma mater for shaping them into "men of
substance."
- Parental
Gratitude: Dr.
Ruchika Mittal (parent of Kushagra Mittal) expressed sincere thanks to the
Christian Brothers and faculty for providing a conducive environment that
allowed the students to blossom.
A
Cinematic Masterpiece: "Memories Rehashed"
While
the morning was filled with honours, a definitive highlight was the screening
of the graduation film, "Memories Rehashed." Produced under
the expert guidance of Mrs. Susan John and Mrs. Ritu Nagpal, the film
was a brilliant labour of love brought to life by a remarkably talented team of
Class XI student directors.
The
auditorium was filled with ripples of laughter and moments of quiet reflection
as the film navigated the "thirteen-year odyssey" of the graduating
batch. From the clumsy first days as toddlers to the confident strides of young
men, the production was a masterful blend of nostalgia and humour. It
was more than just a montage; it was a vivid storytelling of a brotherhood
formed in the classrooms and playgrounds of St. Columba’s, leaving the audience
both cheering and deeply moved.
The
Final Anthem
Following
a vote of thanks by Mrs. Garg, the hall filled with the powerful sound
of the school anthem. The Class of 2026 sang with a finality of spirit and
reverence, a moment that will surely stay with them forever.
The
morning concluded with a warm social hour, where parents, teachers and students
shared memories and well-wishes over light refreshments.
Congratulations
to the Class of 2026! May you continue to walk with courage and integrity.
