Description: “The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence.” - Rabindranath Tagore. The students of Class 2B presented their class assembly on Rabindranath Jayanti, which falls on 25th Baisakh, with great enthusiasm and full of joy on 10th May 2023. It was a humble tribute to honour Rabindranath Tagore, whose contribution to our country on the cultural, educational, philosophical and even political front was unfathomable. The boys celebrated the birth anniversary of India’s first Nobel Laureate by presenting a bouquet of songs, dances and a poem from Gurudev’s repertoire. The prayer song, -“This is my prayer to Thee, my Lord,” written by Tagore was mellifluously sung by the boys as a prayer song leading all into a prayerful mood. The timeless poem, “Where The Mind is Without Fear” was recited by a student in a rhythmic and solemn manner. The dances to the tunes of the famous “Rabindra Sangeet” were an effort to remind us that if no one pays heed to your call, walk on your own symbolised by the famous song- “Jodi tor dak shune keu na ashe, tobe ekla cholo re”. The musical performances bore testimony to the sheer range of Tagore’s creations, which helped him emerge as an institution in himself. Furthermore, a quiz was organized that was thoroughly enjoyed by the Junior School students. The assembly concluded with everyone present in the assembly, singing the national anthem with pride. It was a wonderful experience to dedicate the assembly to Gurudev, a representative of an amalgamation of Indian and modern values. Our Principal, Brother Robert and Junior School Headmistress, Mrs Ritu Kaushal, applauded the efforts of the students and motivated them with encouraging words of wisdom.
