As part of the Government of NCT of Delhi’s month-long cleanliness campaign “Delhi Ko Kooday Se Azadi” (01–31 August 2025) launched to promote cleanliness, public health and sustainability, St. Columba’s School held a special morning assembly on 11 August 2025. The initiative follows directives from the Directorate of Education encouraging schools to integrate Swachhata awareness, anti-plastic messages and civic responsibility into school activities.
The Environmental and Disaster Management Society led the programme with powerful speeches on the dangers of waste and pollution, the need for freedom from garbage and the school’s ongoing efforts including a plantation drive and upcoming cleanliness activities. The assembly also announced participation in a Yamuna river clean-up drive.
The highlight was the Swachhata Shapath administered to all staff and students pledging to maintain cleanliness, segregate waste, recycle, avoid littering and inspire others to do the same. This event marked a strong step towards fulfilling the campaign’s objectives of instilling sustainable habits among young citizens.
