Description:
The MUN Society of St. Columba’s School organised an INTRA MUN for the students from classes 7-12, a one of its kind programme in the school on 12 April, 2024. This saw the participation of over 100 Columbans.
2 committees were simulated, one being the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the other being the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW). The agenda on the floor for UNHRC was the question of the death penalty while the delegates in UNSCW deliberated on the rights of women prisoners.
The aim of the sessions was to initiate eager Columbans to the world of public speaking and enhance their research and negotiation skills.
3 training sessions were conducted to help Columbans who were new to the world of diplomacy.
The committee ended successfully and the results were announced on the same day.
