Description: Peace Begins with Us – Understanding War, Honouring Peace Date: 7th -9th July 2025 In a world where peace is often challenged, it is vital to help young minds reflect on its true meaning and the cost at which it is earned. From 7th -9th July 2025, students in the Junior School engaged in creative and thought-provoking activities centred around the themes of war, peace, and gratitude. Class 1D students participated in a session titled “War and Peace”, where they explored why people sometimes disagree and how harmony can be restored through empathy and kindness. A simple yet powerful PowerPoint introduced them to Mahatma Gandhi’s message of non-violence. The boys expressed their thoughts through a colouring worksheet and concluded with a heartwarming affirmation circle that celebrated the values of love and peaceful living. Class 2B students, on the other hand, channelled their thoughts into words by writing heartfelt peace slogans on handmade paper. Their creative expressions captured the spirit of unity, kindness, and hope, showing how even the youngest voices can speak powerfully for peace. Meanwhile, during their art period, students of Classes 3A and 3C reflected on the impact of war. Through guided discussions and expressive drawings, they paid tribute to the brave soldiers who protect our nation. The session inspired messages of hope and prayers for the safety and well-being of those affected by war. Together, these activities nurtured empathy, gratitude, and responsible thought, reminding our young Columbans that peace isn’t just an idea; it’s a conscious choice that begins with each of us.
