Description:
Class 9 inter section poetry recitation competition was held on 18th October in the MS Auditorium. The theme of the event was a ballad or a narrative poem. Ten participants presented captivating ballads on a wide range of subjects such as valour, patriotism, love, intrigue etc. Mrs. Sucheeta Pal and Mrs. Lovely Brahma, two passionate educators who’ve served St COLUMBA’S for 25 years were the judges for the event. The Principal Br. Robert and the MS Headmistress Mrs. Pal, in their address encouraged students to participate in competitions to build confidence and hone their literary skills. Aaron Adrian Chugh of 9C secured the first position for presenting Casabianca by Felecia Hermans. Tanveer Singh Narula of 9C was adjudged the second best speaker for the poem The Frog and the Nightingale by Vikram Seth and Chris Joseph of 9A, who presented Sir Walter Scott’s famous poem titled Lochinvar secured the third position. The judges congratulated the winners and all the participants and appreciated them for their excellent performance.
