On
11th October, the Middle School walkway of St. Columba’s School transformed
into a vibrant historical trail for the exhibition “Train to Freedom”, an
initiative by the Virasat Club. The exhibit beautifully depicted the inspiring
journey of Mahatma Gandhi, tracing key milestones from his early movements to
the final days of his life.
Designed
as a series of train compartments, each section highlighted a different phase
of Gandhi’s life — from the Champaran and Kheda Satyagrahas, the
Non-Cooperation and Civil Disobedience Movements, to the Quit India Movement
and his final moments at Rajghat. The creative setup allowed visitors to quite
literally “travel” through Gandhi’s journey toward India’s freedom.
Brother
Agnelo Benjamin, the School Community Leader and Mrs. Aparajita Pal,
Headmistress of the Middle School, graced the occasion and interacted warmly
with the students. They appreciated the boys’ efforts and the depth of their
understanding as they confidently explained the exhibits and narrated Gandhi’s
ideals with enthusiasm and pride.
The
event served as a reminder that the Mahatma’s message of truth, non-violence,
and simplicity continues to illuminate the path of every Columban. - Mrs.
