Description: The morning of 24th and 25th August for the Middle school teachers and students, was a musical one. It had to be as it was the much awaited Annual Rhyme and Rhythm competition. The event commenced at 9:00 am and concluded by 11.00 am on the 24th for classes 4 and 5 and on the 25th for classes 6 and 7. The occasion was set in motion with welcoming the guests - the Principal, Brother Robert; the Headmistress, Mrs. Aparajita Sharma Pal; the other two section heads - Mr. Naresh Chopra and Mrs. Ritu Kaushal; coordinators; the English teachers; parents and undoubtedly, the students of all sections of classes 4 to 7 on the two days respectively. The chief guest for the event, was Brother Sameer. He was welcomed wholeheartedly by the teachers and students alike. After the welcome address, the lamp was lit as a means to invoke the Significant Presence, followed by a melodious rendition of the Edmund Rice song by the choir. The themes for classes 4 and 5 were ‘Animals’ and ‘Flowers’ respectively. By becoming the voice of the voiceless, the students of classes 4 and 5 celebrated the synthesis of Animals and Flowers - the wholesome concoction of Flora and Fauna, sans which, we humans cannot even imagine our existence. Just like bringing soul to the body, classes 6 and 7 celebrated two very essential elements of every living being’s life on this planet - ‘Emotions’ and ‘Seasons’, respectively. After communicating the theme(s) with the audience, the student comperes welcomed the judges - Ms Lovely Brahma and Mr Ungshungmi for classes 4 and 5 ; Ms Rohini Gabriel and Ms Lucy Shelly for classes 6 and 7. After that, the section-wise performances began. The performances were followed by the declaration of results by the judges and the awarding of certificates to the winners by Brother Robert and Brother Sameer.
