Description: Parent orientation sessions provide an opportunity for educators to build trust and rapport with parents. By welcoming them into the educational setting and sharing information about the school's vision, values, and teaching methodologies, parents gain confidence in the school's commitment to their child's well-being. The Parent Orientation for Classes 2 and 3 was conducted on 8th April 2024 in the Edmund Rice Hall. Our Principal, Brother Robert, warmly welcomed the parents and assured them of the school’s commitment to ensuring their child’s growth and development. He spoke of last year’s observations highlighting the importance of attendance, punctuality, uniform, English speaking and writing skills, among students. Following this, the Junior School Headmistress, Mrs. Kaushal, introduced the teachers of Classes 2 and 3. She elaborated on ways to spend quality time with the children, ways to encourage them to speak in English, read books to enhance knowledge and switch to Educational TV channels. She further enlightened parents on the important aspects of the New Education Policy. The coordinator and teachers spoke of the importance of developing the 21st-century skills to succeed through the 4C’s i.e. Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical thinking. Much light was thrown on the progressive syllabus for all the subjects, and the parents were made aware of how the SDGs are integrated into all subjects. Various aspects of assessments including the Open Door Assessments, Teacher’s Expectations, Learning Center team and Child Protection were all highlighted and spoken in detail. Finally, the parents were encouraged to ask questions and pose queries which were duly addressed. Overall, it was a very fruitful session and as it concluded we had smiling parents and enthusiastic teachers, all geared up for the new academic session.
