“The
simplest acts of kindness often leave the deepest impressions.”
On
29 September 2026, the Inclusive Education Society undertook an outreach visit
to Sneh Sadan, Gajraula, a home for destitute children with special needs,
lovingly cared for by the Sisters of Grace.
The
initiative was made possible by the wholehearted support of the Senior School,
whose students generously contributed a wide range of essential items for the
children. Their response reflected the spirit of compassion, service and social
responsibility that the visit sought to encourage.
Accompanied
by Mr. Dennis Mathew, Teacher In-charge, the students spent time at Sneh Sadan
interacting with the children and learning about their lives, experiences and
everyday routines. These interactions gave them an opportunity to look beyond
differences and better understand the importance of empathy, dignity and
inclusion.
The
students also visited St. Mary’s School, an extension of Sneh Sadan, where they
gained further insight into the care, education and support provided to the
children. The dedication of the Sisters of Grace and the warmth with which the
students were received made the experience particularly meaningful.
More
than an outreach programme, the visit became a lesson in perspective. The
students returned not only with a greater awareness of the lives of children
with special needs, but also with a deeper appreciation for compassion,
acceptance and the value of human connection.
The
Inclusive Education Society extends its sincere gratitude to every Senior
School student who contributed to the donation drive and helped make the
initiative possible.
Ultimately,
the day was a reminder that service is not measured merely by what we give, but
by what we understand, what we learn, and what we carry back with us.
