Description: The assembly was presented by the students of class 11-E under the guidance of their class teacher, Mr. Dennis Mathew. The topic was centred around the phrase "Public Memory is Short lived". It aimed to focus over the instance where remembrance of tragic events fades away and forgotten, hence no tangible change is made.Post a short prayer, it started off by the playing of a few music tracks that were popular among teens, but have now slipped out of their memories and been replaced by new trends and songs. This example was used to underline the key issues of the Indian Civil and Social structure (for example the cases of dysfunctional medical structure and sexual assaults) that have cast a detrimental impact on us but got forgotten without an effective fixing. Further, the instance of indiscipline was pondered upon and how its far reaching consequences are forgotten due to the 'Short-lived Public Memory'. However, such forgetfulness wasn't completely demonized. The aspect of a healing touch of forgetting events such as a personal grief was duly considered. But, a fine line was drawn between personal grief and Societal & National grief. Towards the end, the listeners were requested to have the remembrance of past national and societal tragedies, burning in their hearts and to constantly strive for a just, civilized and developed nation.
